Our three new artisanal denim pieces each have a unique story of their own. The beginning and birth of these quality Japanese denim designs originated from a mixture of elements – the rich blue colour, the characterising feature in this collection, is inspired by Poliakoff’s art and Picasso's blue period within his paintings. The embroidered patterns and textures are inspired by mosaic patterns in Moroccan architecture. Both inspirations have an overwhelming effect in creating elegant and individual denim designs, all made from our signature 100% cotton, quality Japanese denim. Sure to be standout pieces in any women's wardrobe.
Our embroidered dress, RIHA, and embroidered blazer, VOG, are both a labour of love. Both individually embroidered by hand, taking respectively 300 and 600 hours to create, are a spectacle to be admired in artisanal craft. Using different shades of blue from loose threads of old jeans these new denim pieces gain a story behind them - with sustainability and a second chance at the forefront. The varying shades of blue thread against the white denim create an inspiring impression, both technical masterpieces. Our assembled skirt JIL showcases another artisanal technique – patchwork. An assembly of 1000 individual pieces hand stitched together to create a distinctive design. All three pieces are a true testament to artisanal designs - and the Belgian twin designers are proud to include these in their latest denim collection for women.
Artisanal design deserves to be praised and championed more within the fashion industry. FAÇON JACMIN has aimed to highlight the importance of supporting traditional methods and small communities of artisanal producers throughout our denim journey. Each piece is made from our Japanese denim woven in Okayama, ensuring the denim retains its resistance and strong heritage. Each piece is also made entirely from hand, embroidered by Alexandra JACMIN herself, and other artisanal enthusiasts – a real team effort!
All that was left was to present these wonderful creations to our audience during our first fashion show OUT OF THE BLUE in Paris, last December, presenting our entire denim collection for women. The setting: the glamorous old General Delegation building for Brussels – a fitting environment for the Belgian twins first show. The atmosphere was electric, and the artisanal denim pieces were the stars of the show. Artisanal design shone bright that evening and continues to shine bright within FAÇON JACMIN.
Long live ARTISANAL craft.
