BELGIAN BLUES 19
The BELGIAN BLUES collection for Spring-Summer 2019 is inspired by pieces from both the female and male wardrobe. BELGIAN BLUES is reminiscent of a clouded blue sky, a subtle and mild blue.
Through this collection, Alexandra Jacmin creates pieces that suit a larger number of women: by designing loose, sometimes oversized pieces that are finished with belt straps to highlight the silhouette. A workwear ensemble marks the collection, in which the iconic workwear jacket is reinterpreted in thick sky blue Japanese denim. It is completed with sky blue workwear pants and a sleeveless western shirt. The full ensemble is worn as a three-piece suit.
Moreover, Alexandra Jacmin removes the complexities of the denim jacket to create a minimalist summer jacket in featherweight dark blue denim. Other more feminine pieces complete the collection; such as a fitted apron dress, cigarette pants, a ruffle top, etc. The selection of denim fabrics varies from thick to very thin and soft, somewhere between rigidity and fluidity. The blue colour palette ranges from sky blue to midnight blue shades.
In the end, the BELGIAN BLUES spring-summer 2019 collection invites comfort, subtlety, delicacy, and simplicity. Alexandra Jacmin brings us to the heart of a blurred blue, changing blue, which reminds us of a Belgian summer sky.
